Dear Patient,

The story of how I was first introduced to acupuncture and became an acupuncturist all began here at Natural Integrated Medicine. In my 20s, I had a concussion that left me with neurological symptoms so debilitating that life as I knew it stopped being possible. I went to numerous medical specialists for help, but found no answers or relief. All of my bloodwork and imaging came back negative. Some doctors told me it was all in my head. Others told me nothing else could be done and I would have to live with these symptoms forever. I was feeling worse and worse with each passing day, but I refused to give up searching for answers and some sort of solution. As a result, I found myself as a patient here at Natural Integrated Medicine. To my surprise, I started to heal and get relief after my first treatment! Acupuncture saved my life and, in the end, made me physically and neurologically stronger than ever before.

Growing up, I always knew I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others, but I had never quite found a career that enabled me to. It was through my journey of getting my life back with acupuncture that I found my true passion and calling. Once completely rehabilitated, I decided to go back to school for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. I even had the honor of receiving the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. While at school, I entered into a 4-year apprenticeship at Natural Integrated Medicine, training directly under Roberto Andrade in a wide variety of disciplines, including Sujok Acupuncture, Medical QiGong, Applied Kinesiology, Bio-resonance testing, neuro-muscular rehabilitation, and cold-laser therapy. Through daily one-on-one instruction, we also covered topics in toxicology, clinical nutrition, and herbal medicine. This unique and invaluable apprenticeship has armed me with knowledge, skills, and abilities to help my patients in a way that complements and extends far beyond the training I received in school.

All of my experiences up to this point have helped shape me as a practioner and have provided me with a mindset and form of empathy that can only come from being on both sides of the treatment table, as both patient and clinician. Now, using the same techniques that gave me back my life, I work at Natural Integrated Medicine and get a chance to help others optimize their own health, vitality, and quality of life.

Yours in health,

Laura
