Dear Patient,
My journey into acupuncture has been an interesting one. During my undergrad, some of my family members had gotten very ill, and despite seeing all of the “top” doctors, none of them seemed to be helping. Luckily, along the way, my family was referred to Natural Integrated Medicine, and we could see that after being treated by Roberto Andrade, there was an immediate difference in quality of life. Around that time, I had also started feeling rundown and my family kept suggesting for me to see Roberto, but I was skeptical and thought, “this is going to be another one of those acts where you have to ‘believe in the energy.’” Cautiously, I went to the Natural Integrated Medicine office for an appointment and came to find a very friendly and down-to-earth Roberto. Within one week, I was feeling substantially better and it truly left an impression on me. I thought to myself, “Whatever this guy knows, I want to know.”
So I stubbornly bound into the direction of trying to be his student. I bothered him with continuous questions, and soaked up anything he would teach me, whether it was Martial arts, Qi Gong, books, movies, whatever he prescribed I dove into. After some time, I decided that I wanted to become an acupuncturist and take on the role for others that he taken on for me and my family. I went to the Pacific College of Health Sciences in New York City. Although the schooling was rigorous and the commute was challenging, I spent nearly every Friday of my 5 years in school doing one-on-one instruction with Roberto. The program at Pacific College required over 3000 hours of theory and clinical practice, but by the time I had graduated, I had spent an additional 2000 hours learning with Roberto at Natural Integrated Medicine and had seen over 10,000 patient visits with him.
During my schooling, I was often asked what kind of patients I would specialize in treating, but I didn’t know how to answer that question. However, over time, I found that since Acupuncture, Nutrition, and Herbal Medicine has such a wide-reaching healing potential and since I’ve seen it help so many different types of problems, that I want to help anyone that walks through the door with an ailment. I want my patients to get better, period. When I see someone desperately struggling with their health, I want to help guide them back to wellness.
Yours in health,
Andreas
